Christina Kwan
Christina Kwan is a muralist and visual artist who specializes in abstract paintings of nature. She opts to let the creative process take over, which results in an unanticipated finished product. Her abstracted forms are references to calligraphy, which are subtle nods to her heritage.
Kwan received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in drawing at the University of Florida and eventually found vast commercial success, with murals located in well-known spots around Atlanta as well as paintings featured on sites nationwide.
The titles of her pieces for the Signia Hotel are Sitting Waiting and Emblem of a Memory, respectively, and will be featured in the spa on the fifth floor. These watercolor pieces are abstracted creations with an emphasis on form. Technique is a hallmark of Kwan’s work, and the small moments she creates within her work are evidence of this.

Courtney Khail
Courtney Khail strikes a balance between southern aesthetics and female empowerment in her work. An alum of the University of Georgia, Courtney is a Georgia native and spends her time living and working in Athens.
Her approach to artmaking is spirited; she often opts for a whimsical color palette and subverted forms of popular flora. She injects personal anecdotes into her work, recalling specific memories from her childhood and experiences growing up in the South. Her work has shifted in recent years from realism to more abstract forms, which is evident in her work.
Khail’s work has been widely viewed and displayed, as she has been featured in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, The Food Network, and has had exhibitions in the Atlanta Botanical Garden.

Erik Barthels
Erik Barthels creates a juxtaposition between rendered graphics and handmade work through his unique creative process. Barthels uses collage to create unexpected compositions, which adds an unbuttoned quality to his work.
The invariability of his medium is both expected and invited. The colors he uses are his priority, as they increase the dimensions of the composition.
The title of his piece for the Signia Hotel is titled Sunroom Series and will be located within the Presidential Suite.
